When you think of cloth diapers, prefolds, pins, and rubber pants probably come to your mind. Alot has changed since we were babies and cloth diapers is one of them. Although prefolds and pins are still around, cloth diapers have so much more to offer! Snaps, velcro, and the waterproof layer built right in! There are many differences between cloth and disposable so, let me tell you about a few.

Cloth diapers are an investment. The start up cost can be tricky for some but it is a small sacrifice that can benefit everyone. When I say everyone, I do mean the entire planet! The average child from birth to two years old will use about 6,000 diapers each costing anywhere from 23 to 28 cents each making the average cost $66 a month or $1,600 for two years.

WOW that is alot of money going in the trash! In everyones trash, the landfills to be exact. No one knows for sure how long it will take for a disposable diaper to decompose but, it is guessed to take about 200 to 500 years! I would say you can start with a dozen diapers to use them full time. The start up cost for cloth diapering doesn't seem so bad now, does it?

Everyone has thier own opinion about cloth diapers and there are many myths that go along with it. Many people think the water bill will skyrocket if you are adding one or two loads of laundry a week. I have been cloth diapering for a year, and I have yet to see a change.

Wheather you cloth diaper full time or part time, I know you will do what is best for your baby and family and I hope Poochie Bear's cloth diapers can be apart of it. :)
